MACAU, August 28 - Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has arranged for representatives of twelve tourism associations and integrated resort enterprises from Macao to visit Singapore, Jakarta (Indonesia) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) between 29 August and 5 September as part of the delegation visit led by the Macao SAR Government. During the stay, MGTO will lead the travel trade delegation to meet with tourism-related organizations and enterprises there and take part in the Macao Economic, Trade and Tourism Investment Promotion Seminar to present Macao’s vibrant appeal of “tourism +” to their counterparts in the three countries, while strengthening industry exchange and exploring business opportunities in Southeast Asia, in continuous pursuit of international visitor markets.

Seminars showcase destination appeal in line with Macao SAR’s Third Five-Year Plan and deepen Industry exchange and cooperation

MGTO and the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) will jointly organize the Macao Economic, Trade and Tourism Investment Promotion Seminar (the “Seminar”) in Singapore, Jakarta (Indonesia) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) on 31 August, 1 and 3 September respectively. In line with the Macao SAR’s third Five-Year Plan, the Seminars will present Macao’s unique positioning as “One Centre, One Platform, One Base and One Highland” to the travel trade in the three visitor markets, with a highlighted overview on Macao’s four major development projects, composition of industries, favorable business environment, integrated and leisure tourism resources, international MICE platform as well as the propitious policies and opportunities brought by the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.

An industry networking session will be held during each seminar for enterprises from the Chinese Mainland, Macao, Hengqin and Southeast Asia to forge connections and partnerships in a high-quality setting, which will strengthen interregional cooperation and concerted development in tourism, economy and commerce, MICE and service trade among other areas.

MGTO and the Macao travel trade delegation will visit local tourism-related organizations and large enterprises, building a platform for closer communication and collaboration between businesses.

Brand the destination and promote special offers to boost visitations

This year, MGTO partners with close to 30 travel agencies in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia to launch independent travel packages to Macao, multi-destination group tours to Macao and the Chinese mainland, as well as special offers on air tickets and hotel accommodations. The Office also collaborates with online travel platforms such as Agoda, Traveloka and Klook to launch special offers on Macao hotels, air tickets and travel experiences tailored for the three visitor markets, to energize the intents of Singaporean, Indonesian and Malaysian residents to visit Macao.

During the visits, MGTO will spotlight the destination and tourism products in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. Outdoor advertisements will unfold in major commercial districts and international airports, while special travel offers from partnering travel agencies and online travel platforms will be promoted on well-chosen broadcast media to keep expanding the visitor markets.

Mini drama series in various languages spotlight Macao

Targeting the Southeast Asian market, MGTO is unveiling mini drama series in Indonesian, Malaysian, Thai and English languages for release in August and September. Filmed at iconic attractions in Macao, the series will set off the destination appeal in parallel with the Seminars in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, set to raise Macao’s visibility and glamour in Southeast Asia.

Integrated resort enterprises launch diverse special offers

Riding on the Seminars, MGTO mobilizes the six integrated resort enterprises from Macao to launch a variety of special travel offers on hotels, dining and entertainment through business partnerships and diverse promotional channels. Exceeding 12 million patacas in total value, the promotional initiative is expected to boost sales of Macao tourism products in the visitor markets.

Tap into Southeast Asian visitor market through the visits

This April, the SAR Government led a delegation of entrepreneurs to visit Portugal and Spain and rolled out the “Experience Macao Roadshow in Madrid” in Spain. Joining the SAR Government’s latest delegation visit to Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, MGTO seeks to provide opportunities for Macao’s travel trade to connect with their counterparts in Southeast Asia for collaborative development of innovative tourism products and opportunities, further tapping into the Southeast Asian market and delivering Macao’s role and strengths as a “precise connector” in active pursuit of international markets.
